What We Need to Pray About – December 20, 2024

Christmas Came Early

This year turned out to be one of the most consequential years in American history. That would have been true no matter which candidate won the presidency, or which party won the majority in Congress.  It is a year that will likely be looked back on by historians and ranked right up there with years like 1860, 1941, 1962, 1963, 1968, and perhaps a few other years, in terms of lasting impact on our nation1.

When this year began, we all understood the enormous significance of the choice the nation would be making in November, no matter who the two major parties nominated as their candidates. We knew we would be faced with two diametrically opposed approaches to government. One of those approaches would have taken us further down the Marxist-globalist path we were following, a path that inevitably leads to tyranny. The other approach to government, the one most Bible-believing Christians support,  could be described as counter-revolutionary, having an America first agenda – an agenda that promises to turn us back from the catastrophic trajectory we have been following. We knew going into the year the stakes would be extremely high. I don’t remember the stakes in any election ever being higher.

For those of us who love freedom and the foundational spiritual principles of this country, Christmas came early this year. We got what we wanted. God answered our prayers. We have been given a reprieve. We have been granted a brief window of opportunity to turn back from the brink and put some safeguards and structure in place, so we don’t find ourselves back in a year like this one anytime soon. As we highlighted in last week’s 714 Prayer Report, President Trump understands he has been given a “moment” in history to fix government, so it works “for the people”, and does so in a “righteous” way.

It was both relief and exhilaration that flooded our hearts and souls in the early morning hours of November 6th, when it was announced that President Trump had been reelected. For those of us who understood the devastating consequences if there had been a different outcome, it made the moment all the sweeter. It really did have the feel of a joyous Christmas morning.

As we look back over the year, now without the intense cloud of anxious concern, I thought we might enjoy watching one more time some of the better ads that were part of the Trump campaign. I also thought we might enjoy seeing again some of the reaction to the election, both from the winners and from the unhinged and deranged losers. Think of the links to these videos as Christmas presents. Sometimes you already know what you are going to get, but there is still delight in opening the packages.

The Best of the Campaign Ads

Here are several of my very favorites:

Hold On I’m Coming

Dream On – featuring words of wisdom from President Reagan at the beginning and from President Trump at the end.

Kamala Wouldn’t Change a Thing

Shortest Ad

Fighter – a very moving music video by Jon Kahn.

Together – this ad was released by the Trump team just before Election Day. It included video of some of the great moments in the campaign, and it had a moving opening and conclusion. It was my favorite.

Reaction to Trump’s Reelection

Here’s the good, the bad, the ugly, and the downright frightening!

Meltdowns by Woke Crazies (caution: a few occasions of strong language, which illustrates their TDS2).

Media Confounded By Trump Win

Victor Davis Hanson:

The Democrats had everything but the people.

How Trump won the popular vote.

The Democrats insulted the people.

Black men voting for Trump.

Victory Speech After Being Declared the Winner

It’s Time – ad released by the Trump campaign just a few days after the election. Very powerful!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

1  1776 and 1787-1789 were significant years in the founding of our nation. These years are in a category above all others.
2 Trump Derangement Syndrome
