The Most Consequential Election of Our Lifetime
Whether you realize it or not, the United States just concluded the most consequential election in our lifetime. The stakes were enormous. The very foundation and future of the Republic were at stake. Many Christian Americans saw this clearly and were praying earnestly that God would spare our nation from the looming disaster of four more years of the woke, leftist, Marxist agenda of the Democrat Party. God heard our prayers and has given us a reprieve and a temporary window of opportunity to turn back to Him. So, this is a time of rejoicing and thanksgiving for Bible believing Christians. It seems that God raised up Donald Trump as a champion to bring us back from the brink of a communist, totalitarian future. Our prayer is God will use President Trump to fix what is broken in our nation and set us on a more stable, more secure, more prosperous and, especially, a more Godly path for our future.
As Americans continue to absorb the full import and implications of the election, many voices are weighing in with their assessment. Many on the left, including the Marxist Media, are in full meltdown mode, and justifiably so. They used every deceptive device at their disposal to hold on to power, but it didn’t work. God, in His awesome power, thwarted their every evil effort.
Now that the dust has begun to settle, we are beginning to hear some thought-provoking post-election analysis from conservative commentators, and from conservative political and religious leaders, as well. Two themes seemed to emerge in their thinking: 1) Whew! We dodged a bullet (no pun intended); and 2) We must get to work and waste no time in making sure we never come that close to the abyss again. Below are links to examples of how some of these thought leaders framed the election:

We need to pray that God will help us as a nation to accomplish all we can in this narrow window of opportunity. We need His help to put into law policies and practices that will protect us from future efforts to subvert our constitutional republic and destroy our way of life. We need to pray that God will bless President Trump and his administration as they work toward that end. We also need to look in the mirror and see how God would have us participate. We need to ask ourselves: what role would God have us play, as God-fearing, patriotic citizens in the effort to secure freedom for the generations that follow us? This is not a time to sit back and say, “Go Trump!” Each of us has a role to play, too.
Major Policy Announcements
President Trump has hit the ground running in anticipation of assuming power on January 20th. He has admitted that in 2016 he really did not use the transition time to full advantage and, as a result, was not fully prepared to take the reins on day 1. He is making sure this time not to waste a minute. Part of that preparation is to make sure everyone knows where he stands on major policy issues. Already, President Trump has issued major statements on freedom of speech and education.
Freedom of Speech and Censorship
For the past four years, our First Amendment right of freedom of speech has been under attack as never before. During this time, we’ve seen how the government colluded with various media, social media, and Big Tech companies to suppress and censor speech. They did this by labeling speech they disagreed with as “disinformation” or “misinformation”. During the campaign, RFK, Jr. addressed this issue. This week, in his first major policy statement since his election, President Trump addressed this vital topic.
Education
In last week’s Prayer Report, (November 8th), we explained why the Department of Education needs to be abolished as part of the government restructuring efforts of President Trump’s new administration. Over the past hundred years, radical left Marxists have gained control of our education system at every level. A great book devoted to this topic is: Battle for the American Mind: Uprooting a Century of Miseducation by Pete Hegseth with David Goodwin. As if he read last week’s Prayer Report, President Trump addressed education in another major policy statement this week. In his statement, he called for the abolishment of the Department of Education and a return to state control of educational policy.
He said this will be an early priority once he is back in office.
Appointments
So far, in all his appointments for cabinet and other positions, President Trump seems to be sending the message: “I intend to do what I promised in the campaign – break up the deep state, and restructure and streamline all of the federal government.” All the appointments seem to be people who will be loyal to him, and people whose philosophical approach to government corresponds to his. Even the appointment of Matt Gaetz to be Attorney General and head up the Department of Justice, (which is the appointment that has been the most criticized), is a bold statement by the President-elect that lawfare in America will come to an end. One outstanding appointment made this week was Pete Hegseth to be Secretary of Defense. If you want to know how he plans to un-woke our military, you can read his blueprint: The War on Warriors: Behind the Betrayal of the Men Who Keep Us Free. He boldly included a chapter on why women shouldn’t serve in combat roles. Wow! Pray for him! He’ll need it in the days ahead! They (the Marxist Democrats and their publicity arm, the Marxist Media) will try to crucify him.
